Purple Design

Purple Design was established in February 2005. The main focus of the company is design and layout for the publishing sector. A range of other creative services is also available.

About the owner

I started my design career at the Ruth Prowse School of Art in 1986 and then went on to complete a two-year graphic design course at Art Directors Workshop from 1987-1988. My first job was with GSA Marketing where I designed advertisements for the travel industry.

In July 1989 I moved to leading magazine publisher Ramsay, Son & Parker (now RamsayMedia). Starting out at the company as a junior artist, I worked my way up over the next 16 years on publications including Hotel & Restaurant and Wine magazine to the position of art director. In 2005 I launched my own design company – Purple Design.

I do not offer a printing service but can refer you to various printing companies that will assist you.

Why Purple Design?

The name of the company derives from my preference with the colour purple. It is something that I am associated with, from my clothing, to my handbag, wallet, cell phone and even my car! So, finding a company name was the easiest part of starting the enterprise.
